New 2026 All Leather Maasai Bag

Inspired by a 100-year-old vintage bag we spotted in Kenya, this piece reimagines the traditional Maasai hip bag with modern refinement and reverence. Originally used to carry essentials like medicinal herbs and fire-making tools, it was designed to sit comfortably at the hip, close to the body.

Ours is crafted from a sturdy leather reminiscent of the ruddy Kenyan soil, and reinforced for structure and durability. Over time, it will mold to the wearer and develop a beautiful patina. On one side, intricate glass beadwork references enkarewa, the ceremonial collars worn by Maasai women. Each color and pattern carries symbolic weight, a wearable story of values passed down through generations.

Individually numbered and one-of-a-kind, the result is a piece that bridges centuries: tactile, functional, and alive with meaning.
